About me...
Hi, I'm Ashleigh. I've always been interested in my fellow humans and what makes us who we are. I started my career as a registered mental health nurse in NHS acute mental health services. Being there for someone at some of the worst times of their lives was deeply rewarding and I heard so many stories of pain, trauma and adversity.
I knew I wanted to learn more and find out how I could help people beyond the crisis points, to make long term meaningful changes, to help get past the trauma life had dealt them. I did further training in evidence based psychological therapies, working one-one with people with a range of mental health difficulties, backgrounds and individual stories.
Throughout my career it has become more and more clear how trauma is so often at the root of so much distress. I have attended further training and now specialise in trauma focused therapy and continue to work for the NHS in a Complex-PTSD service.
